Contouring, also known as composite bonding, is a great conservative way in which a tooth coloured material can be used to repair any chips, cracks, fractures in your teeth or to change the shape of your teeth and proportions of your smile.
If you feel self-conscious about gaps or the shape of your teeth, contouring can be an effective way of improving your smile without having to cut down your teeth. A small amount of composite resin material is bonded on to the affected tooth or teeth and sculpted to improve the profile, colour and appearance. The composite will closely match the colour of your teeth to ensure a natural result, and so that any difference from the natural teeth appears unnoticeable. Composite bonding can be a more affordable, less destructive alternative to some other cosmetic dental treatments like veneers and crowns.
Often cosmetic bonding is combined with teeth whitening as an ideal way to correct any imperfections you may wish to change and to create a smile makeover.
